Terms of Service

By creating an account or using dtz.life (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

dtz.life is a personal money application: it aggregates your financial accounts, tracks transactions and balances, and helps you budget. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. Accounts are for a single person and may not be shared or transferred.

When you connect a financial institution, the connection is made through a third-party data aggregator (currently Plaid Inc.). You authorize the aggregator to retrieve your account and transaction data on your behalf, and you agree to the aggregator's own end-user terms and privacy policy in addition to ours. dtz.life never sees or stores your bank username or password; access tokens issued by the aggregator are encrypted at rest.

Connected data may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Always rely on your financial institution's own records as the source of truth.

The Service presents information about your own finances. Nothing in the Service — including budgets, categorizations, net-worth figures, or any derived insight — constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

You agree not to misuse the Service: no attempting to access other users' data, probing or disrupting the Service's infrastructure, reverse-engineering except where permitted by law, or using the Service for unlawful activity.

You retain ownership of your data. Our collection and handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. You may delete your account at any time, which removes your data from the Service as described there.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We may add, change, or remove features, or suspend or discontinue the Service, at any time.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, dtz.life and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including decisions made in reliance on information shown by the Service.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including limitations of liability) survive.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be signaled by updating the date at the top of this page; continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
